Channel 35 is our home channel and at one time we had a very good group of people who used to enjoy talking back and forth, keeping up with all the latest news and happenings among friends. Now there are so many Mexicans on the radio locally and in "skipland" that it's hard to talk or hear anyone more than 4 or 5 miles away without the use of an amplifier, which is against FCC Regulations.

There are no limitations on output power in Mexico which allows the Mexicans to practically dominate the airways and create havoc for anyone who tries to carry on a conversation locally and LEGALLY! Many of these Mexicans are using the CB Radio to operate businesses such as Taxicab Services, not only in Mexico, but here in the United States where operating a CB Radio for commercial purposes is also against the FCC Regulations.

Alas, thanks to the internet and cellphones the FCC no longer enforces these regulations. They have passed on the enforcement of these regulations to the "local" authorities, ie; state, county and city police. The "local authorities don't have the time or resources to deal with this added responsibility, they are busy trying to keep our streets, homes and businesses safe from more dangerous criminals than CB Radio Operators who run illegal stations.

My concern is that all of our good friends whom we have met and greatly enjoy talking to over the radio will become even more disgusted than I am and completely abandon their CB radio equipment altogether. Out of 30 to 40 local operators whom used to fill the airways every night with laughter and lots of good clean, and sometimes not so clean, fun and conversation, I am lucky to find even ONE of my CB friends on the air and that is very disheartening for a devoted, die hard CB Radio Operator like myself.
