The "PUMP it Up & Get you Some Foundation" welcomes you to "The Thunder Dome"!"A good time was had by all!"-Georgia Flash
Woody's Gap FALL 2009 CB & Ham Radio Swap Meet! Saturday OCTOBER 3, 2009!
Phantom CB and the NE Georgia radio operators want to thank each and every one of you who made the trip to Suches, Ga. for the WOODY GAP - Spring 2009 Swap Meet! I think it's fair to say "A good time was had by all!" Although it was a cloudy day, the rain held off for a great this year and LOT'S of fun for everyone who made the trip! We would like to send a special thanks to those who made the trip for the first time!
This year we thought it would be a great idea to give a little something back to all of the people who take the time to make the trip up to the mountain and make this gathering a success each and every year. The "Pump it UP & Get you some Foundation", 714 Express, Moonshine, Gravedigger and Lady Digger all pitched in together to have a big cookout for all of our CB Friends who attended our little gathering. We cooked and served fresh hamburgers and Ball Park all beef hot dogs to everyone FREE of charge, drinks included! We all had a great time and enjoyed some very good food. I think EVERYONE enjoyed it and left with a full stomach and some "new" secondhand equipment! Thanks for coming and we look forward to seeing you all again in October, who knows we may have a cookout again! Now it's time to start getting our stuff together for the up-coming Fall Event! So get all of your equipment together, clean it up and come on up to the mountain! Bring radio equipment, lot's of radio equipment! Let's all get together and have a great time, buy, sell and trade some old stuff for some new stuff! SATURDAY, OCT 3, 2009! 8:00 AM till whenever! Many of you are very familiar with this event, held on the first Saturday in May and the first Saturday in October for
a 20+ years now, at "Woody Gap" in the beautiful North Georgia Mountains! With an elevation of 3,160 feet at the gap, even the smallest radio can talk for amazing distances! There are lot's of great people and a lot of great equipment at this particular gathering every year. "Brick Man" started this event many years ago and as a rule it has become a MUST SEE event!Everyone is welcome and invited to bring their excess equipment to sell or trade! Remember that old Uniden Washington or Cobra 2000 that you have stashed in the closet, or that old Maco 300 you used to run? Well load them up and bring them along, cause there is always someone else who would love to have it and put it to good use! If you don't have any "excess" equipment that you want to part with, then start buying up a few pieces along the way to bring to the next WOODY GAP SWAP MEET! Start saving up some cash, you might find that particular piece that you've been wanting for so long when you get there! One fellow bought a MINT condition, Browning Mark IV at the Fall 2005 event! You'll meet a lot of good people and we'll all share lots of tall tales!(he he!) There will be an antenna set up to hook up any equipment you may be interested in buying or selling to try it out or show it off.
This event is reminiscent of the old time "Coffee Break", where CBer's from all around will gather together, share tall tales and meet some of the people we've talked to on the radio and never met. Everyone sort of gets a picture in their head of the people they have been talking to and it's pretty cool to get to meet them in person and find out how accurate your imagination really is!
So come on up to the mountain, it's guaranteed to be a blast!!!! Bring radio equipment, lot's of radio equipment! Let's all get together and have a great time, buy, sell and trade some old stuff for some new stuff! SATURDAY, OCT 3, 2009! 8:00 AM till whenever!
